What is the Measure?

(Intro)
If life were the measure
and we were the chords
time is an accordion
playing in discord.

If time were the measure
and life were the chords
we’d be accordions.

(Verse)
I’m taking back all the steps I have taken
taken just as long to retrace them
tracing back all the steps I’ve made and
made me feel so sad an mistaken
to take back the steps I have taken
sympathizing with the all wasted
taking back all the steps I have taken
taken just as long to retrace them

(Chorus)
And where we are,
back at the start,
you’re still your goals
and I don’t have a heart.

(Verse)
I just can’t believe what you’re being
making me out to be demon
here in play and in my pleasures
are just a way that you measure
negative aspects of production
extracted and then a reduction
to purify and isolate my soul
but I am chlorine and i am coal.
(Chorus)
So at the start
nothing has changed
You’re still you goals
I’m still deranged.
(Bridge)
(Coda)
abruptly ends
“i don’t know how its going to end,” is spoken
